This project aims to review the data collected at greyhound race tracks across Victoria during 2006-2011 to determine the prevalence of injuries sustained by greyhounds during racing. Analysis will identify possible factors that may increase or decrease the likelihood of a greyhound sustaining a serious injury during a race. This research will establish baseline information on the rates of injury amongst Victorian racing greyhounds using the Greyhound Racing Victoria database and identify risk factors that may be amenable to enhanced management and improvement towards injury reduction.
