Registration: All dogs must be registered if over 8 weeks of age and/or in the ACT for more than 28 days.
Microchipping: All dogs must be microchipped, no minimum age is provided.
Desexing: All dogs over the age of six months are required to be desexed unless the keeper of the dog holds a sexually entire permit issued by the Registrar of Domestic Animal Services.
Electronic collars/devices: Not permitted
Tail docking: Not permitted
Four or more dogs: To have four or more dogs in the ACT you must have a keeper’s licence issued by Domestic Animal Services. More information, including application details, can be found at Keeping Four or More Dogs.
